BAN Platford

BAN Platford was a Cotswolds based artist who painted mainly landscapes.  This water-colour portrait of Caroline Jaine was made in the 1970's.  Platford was born in Great Yarmouth in 1923 and died in 2002.

Amin Tejani

Amin Tejani is a British born artist of Indian origin, who was raised in Texas, USA.  Amin features in "Getting There" - an adventure story about migrant journeys.  His vibrant paintings can be seen on his website (which he needs to update to include more recent works!)

Becky Slade

Janice Wilkins

British artist Janice Wilkins has recently re-enacted a Emmeline Pankhurst speech outside a shopping mall - donning a "Votes For Women" T-shirt, as the speech was taking place, she asked women shoppers whether they had voting in the last election.    She rarely paints - so this selfish portrait is a real treasure.

Lord (Nazir) Ahmed of Rotherham

Lord Ahmed of Rotherham took this photograph over tea at the House of Lords.  Nazir Ahmed became Britain's first Muslim life peer in 1998.  More about his Parliamentary career on his Westminster web page.

John Bramwell

John Harold Arnold Bramwell (b. 1964) is an English singer-songwriter, best known as the frontman for Manchester based alternative rock band I Am Kloot (nominated for Mercury Award in 2010).  John has also issued solo material under the guiseof Johnny Dangerously.

John made this portrait moments before performing at The Junction in Cambridge - as part of sell out tour of Kloot's Sky at Night album.

Lord Malloch-Brown

Fitting that the first offering is by an international statesman who asked me to pose in front of a portrait of him that I had painted. George Mark Malloch Brown, Baron Malloch-Brown, KCMG, PC is a former UN Deputy Secretary-General and former British Minister of State.  Mark was made a life peer in 2007.  This portrait was made on 19 November 2010 at the photographer’s home in Chiswick.
